The Slowest Jamba

Somewhere, there is the slowest Jamba Juice in the world. And in this particular Jamba Juice, you can find America’s worst assembly line. There are 8 people on hand, but only 2 people actually working. One collects the orders and sits and watches as the other, quite calmly, prepares the drinks.

Although he does place the ingredients into the cups in parallel, he moves them one by one to the blenders. There he realizes that he forgot to wash the covers so he turns to the sink. His other co-workers are in his way, and they dance around each other awkwardly. He then decides to wash all the dirty dishes while the unfinished Jamba Juices sit patiently in the blender.

He then remembers why he was even at the sink in the first place, and turns around to blend the drinks he had started. One of them is actually a breakfast granola yogurt thing, so he has to cut the bananas for that. With that on his mind, he forgets to actually press the blend button. Again, the un-blended drinks sit there, this time at least covered by the hood of the blender device.

After fully cutting one banana, he reaches over to get the yogurt only to realize none of them were blended. He does that now, carefully this time.

A minute later, he is ready to drop the bananas in. He tries to do so gingerly, but his hands are so clumsy. Sadly, he misses the cup (how?) completely. He looks up hoping nobody saw, but I was there, watching like one would watch a melting candle (or a melting banana). Knowing he’s in the spotlight, he starts with a new banana. Little does he know, I don’t care about that fallen banana, or the possibly contaminated granola yogurt.

My Mango-a-Go-Go was still waiting there. As were the other 4 customers in the abnormally large Jamba Juice. Did anyone else realize there were more workers than customers? I suppose not. In the end, all that really matters was that the juice was good. And it was.
