Nick and Norah's

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist

I am so cool because I got to see Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist before everyone else did! I didn’t think I would enjoy the movie. I think the last few Judd Appatow movies weren’t as good, and for some reason, I associate every actor that has ever been in one of his movies, to only be in his movies. The movie also seemed to fit into the same genre as Superbad, which I think is very hard to beat.

I did end up enjoying the movie. There was as slight tinge of Lost in Translation—exploring the crazy city night life, but the characters were lost in different ways. The overarching story line isn’t too compelling. It’s the small details that make the movie charming.

Michael Cera is basically the same character as he has was in Superbad and Juno but he does it well. There was something there that wasn’t in his past movies though. It wasn’t his complete awkwardness that got the girls. I’m not really sure what he had in this movie. Music?

Speaking of music, the soundtrack is pretty awesome. The movie is entertaining, but now as I try to recall the details, it’s a little forgettable.

there were some awkward moments in this movie that were hard to get past... such as every time that gum was re-used (yuck!)
